2023 - New Beginnings

I don't know what to say other than a million apologies. Lots of personal choices being made for my family, a baby who is growing up to be a magnificent person and is eating up my free time and, quite honestly, it is worth the time to spend with them.

I am making slow progress on my three novels. It is seriously like watching a loading bar on each of them.

After my maternity leave and returning to my job, I had to navigate how to be back at work, alongside being a working parent. It doesn't help that my computer lives in the baby room as well. So, when I have free time to write, I cannot go in due to a sleeping baby.

As 2022 wrapped up and I reflected with my partner about what I wanted to change, I expressed my desire to release a book for 2023. I talked about trying to release maybe the entire Royale series in the next 2 years. He was in full support of this and we made a plan to make sure that I get one hour of uninterrupted time to write on my computer. I also, awfully, decided to take my lunch break to continue to fast (trying intermittent fasting to shed this baby weight) and use it for something good like writing. I am now several days in and though it is hard to do, I am actually getting somewhere. I wrote an entire chapter, revised several sections, paced out the next few chapters and reread my other two series. I am feeling confident that if I make this a habit, I should be able to finish even in a few months and release part one this summer.

I hate making deadlines and making empty promises but the plan this year is to release part one of Royale. If it all goes well, maybe I will go back to the other two books and try to finish them as well. Apart from a big project at work or a sick baby, I should get at least 60 minutes each day to write, and while that may not be a lot, it is a lot more than it has been in previous months.

While waiting for this book to come out, I would love it if anyone could share out on my social media any thoughts or opinions on the upcoming releases and please reach out for any book recommendations too, especially when I am in a dry spell!

I hope everyone has an amazing year and happy reading!

May Update - Budding Moon Book Cover

 Good day my lovely readers,

I am happy to report that I am slowly making progress on "Budding Moon" and I am also excited to say that it is flowing out of me very easily. The only issue is the fact that I am still juggling this amazing adventure of motherhood, which is a time sink. Most of my writing is a mess, jumbled words from 2am jots from waking up to feed and not being able to fall back asleep. While I am excited because I am making the deadline I have conjured in my head, I know this will have lots of edits and revisions made before sharing it with all of you.

In the meantime, I wanted to share the cover with you to get you jazzed about the prospect of a book this year! I also updated my headshot, not that it matters to any of you. In the meantime, I will continue to provide updates for all of you each month.

Happy Reading!

- L.B.

Update - I promise I am alive!

Hello to my faithful and patient readers.

I know what you are thinking...weren't you supposed to not only post updates but release a book by now? Did you fall off the face of the earth or worse, quit when the stories were getting good? I know, I am the worst but I bring good tidings.

Over the summer, I found out I was pregnant and in February I welcomed my first child! It was a harrowing ride and for those who experienced pregnancy and all the joys and wonders it brings, along with working full time in a new job, you know just how exhausting it all was. Also, they never tell you about the sleep depravation. Okay, they have, but I chose to ignore the warnings and let me tell you, it is very eye opening (literally) how much time you spend with your little one. Thankfully, I have cracked the code of newborns (not really) and been taking time to write now that I erased from the equation work (thank you maternity leave) pregnancy (thank you for breathing again) and longer periods of sleep (thank you to my new child for figuring that one out).

What does this mean now? I am hoping to finish "Budding Moon" later this year. I do not want to put a timeline on this since life is a little chaotic but I made a schedule to get some writing done each day and finish hopefully by the end of the summer. Of course that means extra time for edits, beta readers, revisions and all the fun that comes from the writers process. If you are still out there though and want to keep checking in, I will try to release monthly a snippet of the story, which has been a blast to write. Of course, this is subject to change as edits are made.

Thank you for understanding and here is a sneak peak for you!

In glad tidings,

L.B.

“Quinn, I want to lower you but I don’t think you would be accommodating. If I did lower you, I need you to remain calm. I know a promise will not be trusted coming from a stranger but I promise that I will never harm you and will keep you safe.”

“Trusting is a big ask.” I said weighing my options. I wanted to be let down, badly, but the urge to fight was strong too. At the end of the day, I knew I couldn’t fight being on the top of a boat but I nodded, afraid to say the words that would agree with him.

With my nod, I felt the shifting of the shoulders as he lowered me into both his arms. The warmth of his body cradling me made me feel comforted and I almost regretted agreeing to leave it behind for a bit of freedom. I stared into his chest, hidden by a flannel red shirt but stretched from the muscle that obviously hid under it. My eyes trailed up, curious to see who I was speaking to.

The minute my eyes met his, I knew my life was his to hold forever.

Summer Update - Budding Moon Announcement!

 Hello lovelies,

I have to say, I am so sorry! I am the worst updating you and promise to do better.

So let me just say, I have been writing my little heart out to prepare for an amazing werewolf love story. It is definitely a different take compared to what has been coming out and I am so excited to share it all with you. I am making it my goal to write on the website once a month with updates on how it is going.

I am officially spending my writing time writing "Budding Moon" book one of the Royale series. The goal is to release this year and with my timeline, I think I can get it to a November 2021 release date. I will release some snippets each month but for right now, I got my little back of book description to share with you all! Please feel free to join my email list to keep up to date on all my postings moving forward. I am looking forward to sharing book one with you!

Heart,

L.B. Bishop

Oak and Holly Teaser

 Hey everyone!

Can't believe it is already May! I have made HUGE progress with my writing. While I am still working on three novels simultaneously, I have made a decent schedule to make sure they are all receiving the love and care that they should.

The way things are working right now, I think I am going to put the second installment of Enclosed on pause right now. While I loved writing my first story, I am really enjoying Royale and Oak and Holly more and seem to keep navigating towards those two books more. Does this mean you won't get to finish Lisbeth's story? Of course not! I have a bit written but I need to continue mapping out the story and the following story before I continue.

As for today, let me tease you a bit about Oak and Holly. As I stated in my previous post, it is based on Irish folklore and has a strong Fae storyline that connects to stories we have all read and enjoyed. Below is a one line teaser to hold you over until I get a bit further to give you a real one!

I think those are all the updates for now! Hope you all are enjoying some sunshine as we dive into spring! Sending you all much love!

Hugs and happy reading,

L.B.

Website Up and Running!

I first off want to say THANK YOU for everyone who has been patient (or even those who have not been patient) while I was creating this website. As you can imagine there is nothing more exciting than getting this website up and running!

That being said, let me update you on my year. As you can imagine, it has been crazy with this little thing called COVID-19, and for those who don't know my day job, let's just say, I was bit of insanity having me physically going into work. I had the opportunity to finished Enclosed when working from home, but now being physically back at work and having to juggle new regulations every week, it created some chaos in my writing schedule. Also, with me losing my writing schedule while adjusting to my day job, my brain went into overdrive and I have started three different novels.

I know what you are thinking, three novels and not a single one is published yet. How could I do this to everyone who is waiting for the second installment of Enclosed

To be honest, while writing the second novel, I had an amazing novel pop into my head and I couldn't ignore it while writing Enclosed. So, I started writing it. Halfway through that one, I got inspired again and started a new novel. All three are very different and I am enjoying writing and planning each novel and how I want to proceed. Also, with vaccines and some normalcy returning in my daily life, I am able to start a schedule again.

The second installment of Enclosed will be coming. I don't have a title yet, I don't have a blurb or feel comfortable releasing any teasers yet but I will release something hopefully this summer.

What about the other two novels? I don't want to give too much away but Oak and Holly is based on Irish folktales, and if you look up the changing of seasons, you can make your own assumptions on what my plan is with that one. This book is a stand alone but I might continue to build the world with some of my amazing cast of characters. I have an idea of who I want to incorporate in the second book but that is not outlined yet.

Royale is my newest book child, and it has a more supernatural world with the primary characters being werewolves. I am not very far into this particular story but most of my focus has gone into this series and I have outlined and planned out the next three books. I am having a lot of fun writing this particular series and with all the new werewolf books coming out, I am feeling extremely inspired to continue on this supernatural path.

So the next question, what is the timeline? I am not even halfway through any of the books. My goal is that I am hoping for another release this year. It might be any of the three, it might be none. There is still a lot of chaos in my everyday life so even though I found the self-discipline to lay out a schedule, I still have a lot to do with writing, proofreading, editing, and all the other million things that goes into making a book fantastic. Since I have a full time job, that has to come first - got to pay bills and all that. However, since I have this website up and running now, you can take advantage to look for updates, book progress and you can always reach out to ask me questions.

Now the next step is to set up my authors pages on other websites...yikes!
